PakMedicine team welcomes the enthusiastic, energetic, talented young doctors with editing and authoring skills to join our team from all over Pakistan. If you believe that you have the abilities to stand out as an author or editor and need a platform to show your potential then feel free to contact us.

PakMedicine is a platform for our Pakistani medical trainees from both undergraduate as well as postgraduate cohorts, and our aim is to build knowledge bank for easy learning of the complex concepts in medicine.

How you can contribute

You can join us for the following tasks:

    1. Contribute by authoring of Short Essay Questions (SEQs) of any subject for First Year to Final Year medical students
    2. Contribute by authoring of MCQs of any subject for First Year to Final Year medical students
    3. Contribute by creating elaborative images and sketches of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology, or anything else which you think could be helpful for easy medicine learning
    4. Contribute by sharing actual good quality Anatomy dissection videos and pictures.

What Do We Offer

As stated above, we pay our contributors a reasonable amount for the work they do for us, however; there is no clear answer to this question as it depends upon various factors. There are no flat rates to any form of the work our author does, however; we will be happy to discuss this once we have received a sample of your work. The due amount will be directly debited into the account details provided once we have reviewed, assessed and accepted your work.

Requirements for Joining Us

We have very few requirements for anyone to join us as an author, which are given below:

  1. You must be a high achiever medical student, doctor in training or out of training.
  2. You must be able use Microsoft Word and be familiar with simple editing tools.
  3. You must have good English and be able to write the clinical notes in your own wording.
  4. If you are a medical student and want to join us, you must be at least 2 year higher grade from the M.B.B.S. Professional year you want to be author for.
  5. You understand that you will not share any copyrighted and stolen material from other resources with us and you must take the whole responsibility of your work from this perspective.

Terms and Conditions for Authors

To provide our candidates the best material and authentic resource for preparing their exams, PakMedicine team has strict monitoring policy and created a few but mandatory Terms and Conditions for authors which are listed below. These terms and Conditions apply to everyone joining our authoring on the top of our general user Ts&Cs.

    1. Authored work should be written in simple, clear and understandable English.
    2. Work with frequent spelling mistakes may be rejected (we may still accept a few spelling mistakes).
    3. The authored material should be in your own words.
    4. We will not accept any Copyrighted or  material stolen from other resources. In case we accept any material in error, and is found to have contents stolen from other resources, the author will be stood responsible for that.
    5. All the material submitted to us will go through Quality Assessment process.
    6. We reserve the right to use and publish the sample material you submitted to us without seeking.
    7. We may interview you via video or phone call if and when required to clarify the any confusion or ambiguity surrounding the work we accepted.
    8. Any payment for your accepted work will be cleared as soon as possible within 2 weeks from the day of acceptance. The money will be directly debited/deposited into the account of your choice, and in any Bank that operates within Pakistan. No payments will be sent via other means for example: JazzCash, EasyPaisa, UPaisa, Western Union, MoneyGram or Cash-in-hand etc.
    9. We will not transfer any money into any Bank based abroad unless that is where you live normally and you joined us as an overseas author.
    10. We welcome Pakistani doctors working abroad to join us and contribute. However; the payment will be released into their Pakistani accounts. If they do not have one, we will be happy to transfer the payment into any other Pakistani Bank account on their behalf if they wish us to.

Guidance And Tips For Good Authoring

Here are few advices and tips for you if you want to join us as an author / editor.

  1. Make your mind to read books, grasp the clinical concepts and translate them in your own words
  2. Choose a topic or a subject you feel most comfortable with
  3. Decide whether you want to create Medical Diagrams, Sketches, write MCQs or SEQs. You can find loads of SEQs from your past papers or you can create good quality MCQs from the topics you know better.
  4. To create good quality MCQs:
    • Always think of the important clinical knowledge from different aspects from the examiner point of view.
    • You will see that one single topic could be asked in many different ways by the small twists.
    • Once you reach that stage, we know you are gonna love your skill.
    • Write the stem of the MCQ and different options clearly
    • Write the accurate answer clearly with a suffix ANSWER:… (for example if the answer of a question is option D, you must write ANSWER: D.)
    • Simply write your MCQs on Notepad++ (Download Free on you Laptop or PC). You can write on Microsoft Word if you have find difficulty in using Notepad++. In that case make sure that you choose Calibri Font with a Font Size of 10.
    • Write the name of the Subject and the Topic or Chapter you are authoring MCQs for.
    • Write minimum 10 MCQs for sampling and submit to us.
    • Wait for the review, assessment and feedback.
    • Once approved, we will contact you for further process, as well as we will pay you for the accepted work.
    • We will provide you further guidance on our acceptable format once your sample work is accepted.
  5. For SEQs, find the past papers and look for the contents of each questions. Think about how you can answer them perfectly in a way that every aspect of the questions is addressed fully.
    • Before you start writing always try to consult International Standard medical books. You may also get help from the World Wide Web using internet and searching different websites on how those questions are answered.
    • Write your answer using Microsoft Word in a well organized manner.
    • Ensure you write the answers clearly in your own words.
    • Ensure that you have addressed every aspect of the question asked.
    • Review for any spelling mistakes. Microsoft Word is very clever in picked the grammar and spelling mistakes, simply follow it, however; it is still not fully aware of the medical terminologies, hence you may sometimes still need to prick your brain.
    • Review your answer fully with an examiner’s eye and see if your answer qualifies maximum marks offered or there is any room to improve.
    • Make any improvement if needed.
    • Make sure that you do not directly copy and paste any material you want to post to us
    • Ensure that you do not steal anyone’s material copyrighted or not copyrighted.
    • Save your answer and move forwards.
    • Complete 5 SEQs for sample submission.
  6. Submit your excellent work to us for review, assessment, and feedback.
  7. Wait for acceptance of your work and get paid.
  8. Excellent…..job done.
